Sunday, October 12th
Lorton Community Action Center has been selected as “Baker for a Day” by the Great Harvest Bread Company in Lorton. LCAC was selected because we received the greatest number of votes from you, our wonderful supporters. Now it is time to support us by buying a loaf of bread on Sunday, October 12th, from 12pm – 4pm. LCAC volunteers will be selling the bread and EVERY PENNY goes directly to LCAC.

Please drop by Great Harvest at the corner of Silverbrook Road and Lorton Road (next to the Comfort Inn) on Sunday, Oct 12th and buy the best bread in the world! Your purchase will be a 100% donation to LCAC and will help to feed the 300 families we serve every week!

Other News:

The Board has been busy cleaning up the marina. All are welcome to come take a look at how well the marina is beginning to clean-up! Most of the debris and overgrowth was cleared from around the perimeter of the marina, which allowed us to reclaim unused space with which we've re-organized trailer and boat storage.

Additionally, a firepit was constructed near the new playground and deck, so all members are encouraged to come on down and enjoy the warmth of a fire on these quickly approaching crisp fall nights.

With the Fall Fest re-scheduled for Oct. 25th we are cancelling our plans for an Octoberfest this year, but we will be HEATING up the neighborhood with a chili-cook-off in November. An individual flyer and email will be distributed regarding the specifics of this event, but for now find your best chili recipe and start preparing to take on your neighbors in this friendly and yummy competition!
